How We Price Our Work

Every property is different. Every project has different scope, site conditions, materials, and access. We don't list one-size-fits-all prices because we don't believe in surprise upcharges — or in setting expectations we can't honour. Every quote is free, every quote is firm, and every quote is delivered in writing within 48 hours.

    Lawn Care & Weekly Mowing

    What drives the price

    • •Lot size (mowable square footage)
    • •Lot complexity — hills, tight gates, garden bed obstacles
    • •Trim work — edging along beds, walkways, fences
    • •Frequency — weekly programs run 25–30% cheaper per visit than one-off cuts
    • •Add-ons — bagging vs side-discharge, blow-down, bed maintenance

    Programs we offer

    • Weekly mowing programs May–October (typically 22 visits)
    • Bi-weekly programs
    • One-off vacation cuts
    • Spring start-up package — de-thatch, first cut, edge restoration
    • Aeration + spring fertilizer package
    • Fall cleanup — leaf removal, final cut, bed winterization

    Paver Installation

    What drives the price

    • •Square footage (the main variable)
    • •Paver style — premium lines come in dozens of styles at different price points
    • •Pattern complexity — running bond is cheaper than herringbone
    • •Excavation depth — patios 8–10" base, driveways 10–12"
    • •Site access — backyard wheelbarrow run vs driveway truck access
    • •Removal of existing surface — concrete or asphalt
    • •Edge details — soldier course, contrasting border, drainage
    • •Drainage solutions like French drains
    • •Lighting integration — low-voltage paver lights

    Always included in our price

    • Geotextile fabric base
    • Class A gravel base, compacted in lifts
    • Polymeric sand jointing — never regular sand
    • Edge restraint
    • Polymeric sand re-application after first rain
    • Manufacturer warranty paperwork handed over
    • Site clean-up and debris haul

Hardscaping — Retaining Walls, Fire Pits, Stone Work

    What drives the price

    • •Wall height and length — both scale more than linearly
    • •Stone choice — engineered wall block vs natural stone vs precast
    • •Engineering — walls over 4 ft typically need stamped engineered drawings
    • •Base and drainage — every wall needs perforated drain tile + clean stone
    • •Site access and slope
    • •Excavation volume
    • •Permit fees (pass-through, included as transparent line items)

    Always included

    • Engineered design coordination on walls over 4 ft
    • Drainage backfill standard on every wall
    • Geogrid reinforcement on walls over 4 ft
    • Capstone adhesion (never loose)
    • Permit coordination + fees as transparent line items

Outdoor Construction — Decks, Pergolas, Gazebos

    What drives the price

    • •Square footage
    • •Material — pressure-treated vs cedar (~30–40% more) vs composite (60–100% more)
    • •Height and railing — elevated decks need posts, beams, railings, stairs
    • •Permit requirements — attached decks usually required, freestanding pergolas often not
    • •Foundation type — concrete piers vs deck blocks vs full footings
    • •Custom features — built-in benches, planter boxes, lighting, screening

    Why ranges, not fixed prices?

We've worked on $1,200 jobs and $48,000 jobs in the same neighbourhood. Two paver patios that look identical from the street can be priced 40% apart because of:

    • •One has truck access; the other needs wheelbarrow runs
    • •One sits on natural drainage; the other needs a French drain
    • •One uses an entry-level wall block ($); the other a premium line ($)
    • •One is a clean grass install; the other requires removing a concrete slab first

That's why we quote per-project, not per-square-foot. It's the only way to be honest with you and fair to ourselves.

    • Sales pressure — we quote it, then leave the ball in your court
    • Fake "this week only" discounts — we don't manufacture urgency
